Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok, developed by xAI and integrated with X, generated an estimated 3 million sexualized images in just 11 days, including roughly 23,000 depicting children, a study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate found. The tool’s image-editing feature allowed users to alter photos of real people into sexually explicit or revealing depictions without consent, sparking international outrage. Several countries imposed restrictions, and regulators in the UK, EU, and California opened investigations into non-consensual deepfake content. X has since disabled the feature and promised stronger safety measures.
